Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities:
- Collects specimen from patient needing pulmonary diagnostic procedures.
- Makes accurate documentation on the pulmonary treatment, patient’s response and any adverse reactions. The RT Supervisor and the nurse-on-duty should be notified at once on any noted adverse reactions.
- Validates the accuracy and signs all official documents related to RT procedures accomplished by the respiratory therapy assistant(s).
- Monitor patients hooked to any cardiopulmonary equipment. Coordinates with the attending physician for any adjustments and institute the prescribed changes.
- Acts as member of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation team.
- Process patients needing pulmonary services and takes care patients attached to mechanical ventilator.
- Participates in any company training.
- Evaluates and maintains the proper operating conditions of all equipment/instrument to meet the safety standard for both patient and respiratory therapy staff.
- Prevents spread of infection by strictly following the infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines.
- Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly fashion at all times.
- Performs other miscellaneous and related duties as requested by the RT Supervisor, Area Manager and the MSA-PH officers.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of BS Respiratory Therapy
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist per Republic Act Number 10024
- Preferably experienced working as Respiratory Therapist for at least one (1) year
- Good clinical and technical skills
- Computer literate
- Good communication skills
