Your Road to Recovery Starts Here,
Therapeutic services offered by the MSA Philippines is primarily focused on treating and caring for the patient to improve their health status, following a diagnosis from a medical professional.
We offer Therapeutic Services for MSA-PH

Aerosol Therapy
Through a nebulizer aerosol mask setup or an aerosol tracheostomy setup, aerosol therapy can be administered to deliver aerosolized medication directly into the patient’s airway and lungs. This treatment is usually given in lieu of injections for chronic conditions to directly deliver the medication to the treatment site, lower systemic adverse effects, and quickly anticipate effects.

Chest Physiotherapy
A treatment that improves the lung function for better breathing through the physical manipulation of the thorax, an area of the body that is situated between the neck and the abdomen, with different modalities such as postural drainage, percussion, and vibration. Through CPT, the patient’s lungs expand, breathing muscles strengthen, and drainage of lung secretions loosen. The chances of having pneumonia after surgery also decrease. This service is usually recommended to help cough up excessive lung secretions.

Incentive Spirometry
With the help of an incentive spirometry handheld device, therapists facilitate the patient in recovering after a surgery or an illness as the lungs can weaken after a long period of disuse. The treatment is to have patients practice a Sustained Maximal Inspiration (SMI) exercise where inhalation is sustained for four to five seconds. Such exercise keeps the lungs healthy and retrain them to have slow and deep breaths.

Infusion Pump
Through the infusion pump, intravenous (IV) fluids, including medications and nutrients, can enter the patient’s circulatory system in controlled amounts. In contrast with manual administration, infusion pumps can administer fluids in small volumes and deliver them at precise intervals.

Oxygen Therapy
Oxygen therapy is a treatment that provides supplemental oxygen to patients with goals of improving patient’s blood oxygen level and alleviate difficulty of breathing. Oxygen concentrators are medical device that gives supplemental oxygen to patient using appropriate O2 device such as nasal cannula and simple O2 mask. Oxygen concentrators pulls in air from the environment and sieves O2 and brings nitrogen back to the atmosphere.

Peak Expiratory Flow Rate
Peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) is the volume of air forcefully expelled from the lungs in one forceful exhalation. PEFR measurement is performed by the patient using a peak flowmeter to know ventilation adequacy as well as airflow obstruction. Peak flow values can vary from person to person dependent on certain factors such as sex, age and height and airway condition.
